Privacy Promise

I don’t have a typical corporate privacy policy for two reasons: lawyers are expensive, and most privacy policies just give companies carte blanche with your data. I hate that. Instead, here’s my Privacy Promise:

I will never sell your data—only services.
If you give me your contact info or data, I treat it as a privilege. I’ll only reach out when I believe you’ll find it helpful.
You can withdraw consent or delete your data at any time.

There are however a few legal bases to cover.

1. Information We Collect

We collect only what you voluntarily provide: name, email, payment details (e.g. Stripe), or any content you submit through forms or uploads.

2. How We Use Your Information

To provide our services
To process payments and communicate about transactions
To send you updates, newsletters, or support messages (with your consent)

3. Sharing & Disclosure

We do not sell or rent your personal data. We may share data with:

Third-party service providers (e.g. Cloudflare, Stripe, Clerk)—they have their own policies, so understand what they do with your data. Data is only shared with these providors when they need it to render services.
When required to do so by law or law enforcement. We aren't running a VPN here.

Bear in mind also that the data you upload here is accessible by certain members of our team here at Light Labs (chat data, location info, contact info etc.) we want you to know that we take that seriously and all access to that data is logged carefully and any misuse of that access will be treated with the utmost seriousness

4. Data Security

We use industry-standard measures (encryption at rest & access controls) to protect your data. However, no system is 100% secure—please only submit data you’re comfortable sharing.

Bear in mind, the internet is forever. We'll do our best to keep your data internal and will delete it from our systems at your request or if you discontinue services. But be wise.

5. Data Retention

We retain some data while you’re an active user. If you withdraw consent or close your account, we’ll delete your personal data immediately, unless legal obligations require otherwise.

6. Your Rights

Access: Request a copy of the data we hold about you
Correction: Ask us to update inaccurate data
Deletion: Ask us to erase your data
Opt-out: Withdraw consent for communications or services (at any time)

7. Children’s Privacy

Our services are not intended for children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If you’re a parent and believe we have your child’s data, contact us to delete it, we'll be more than happy to assist.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Promise occasionally. We’ll post changes here with a “Last updated” date. Your continued use after changes means you accept the new terms. If you want to receive notifications when updates go out we will setup that ability sometime soon, stay tuned.
